Jeju Island is an amazing island off the south coast of South Korea, which features beautiful scenery, great food, and many things to explore and experience.
If you’re staying for a longer period of time in South Korea, I recommend considering traveling to Jeju Island and staying there for a few days.

The easiest way to get to Jeju Island from either Seoul or Busan is to take a plane from Gimpo Airport (Seoul) or Gimhae Airport (Busan) to Jeju International Airport. While it is possible to get there by train and boat, taking a flight is much faster, more convenient, and usually cheaper.

How to get to Jeju from Seoul and Busan
One of the highlights of my time in South Korea is traveling around Jeju Island and experiencing its nature, food, and everything else it has to offer.
It’s a great vacation island and a place I highly recommend that you visit for a couple of days if you’re staying in South Korea for a longer period of time.
To get to Jeju from Seoul or Busan, you need to take a flight, which takes around 1 hour and 10 minutes from Seoul and 1 hour from Busan.
There are several websites where you can purchase plane tickets to Jeju. These are the ones that I have used:
You can use any website you’d like to purchase your flight tickets, though.
It is technically also possible to get to Jeju by bus/train + ferry, but it will take quite a long time, and it is usually more expensive than flying, which is why almost everyone flies there.
An interesting thing to know is that the route between Gimpo Airport in Seoul and Jeju International Airport is the most-flown route in the world.
Once you have your flight tickets, all you need to do is find your way to Gimpo Airport in Seoul or Gimhae Airport in Busan, depending on where you’re staying. If you’re taking public transportation to the airport, you can use one of the Korean navigation apps to find your journey there. You can also take a taxi to the airport.
Flight ticket prices to Jeju from Seoul and Busan vary depending on the time of year and how early you book your tickets, but they will most likely be around ₩90,000 – ₩120,000 (~$67 – $90) for a round-trip.
The first time I traveled to Jeju Island was in September of 2020 with other exchange students when I was an exchange student in Seoul myself. Because of the circumstances back then, the flights were incredibly cheap, and I paid only $6.7 for my return flight, I remember.
When I traveled to South Korea in May of 2022, things had started to get closer to normal, and flights were around $45 each way.
That’s how to get to Jeju Island from Seoul or Busan in South Korea!
