Are you in South Korea and want to check out the latest electronics?

If you’re in Seoul, Busan, or another large city, you should be able to find several of these electronics stores.

Here are the best places to buy electronics in South Korea:

  • Lotte Himart
  • Electro Mart
  • Apple Stores
  • Samsung Stores
  • LG Stores

Both Lotte Himart and Electro Mart are large electronics retail chains, which means they sell a wide variety of electronics and appliances. Everything from smartphones and computers to fridges and rice cookers can be purchased there.

Apple, Samsung, and LG, the two ladder begin South Korean companies, all have dedicated stores in the country where they only sell electronics from their own brand.

If you’re not quite sure what you’re looking for or if you need appliances, then I recommend you go to either Lotte Himart or Electro Mart. Even though Samsung and LG also have a range of appliances.

But, if you know you want a new iPhone, then I recommend you go to a dedicated Apple store, and likewise, if you want a Samsung or LG phone or gadget, then I recommend you go to a dedicated Samsung or LG store.

To find Samsung electronics stores on Naver Maps, you have to search for “Samsung Digital Plaza”, as that’s what their electronics stores are called.

To find LG electronics stores on Naver Maps, you have to search for “LG Electronics Best Store”, as that’s what their electronics stores are called.

Apple stores can be a bit harder to find as they don’t have a dedicated store name besides “Apple”, so several things will show up when you search for them. At the time of this writing, they have stores in Yeouido (여의도), Garosugil (가로수길), and Myeongdong (명동) in Seoul.

Lotte Himart (“LotteHiMart” in Naver) and Electro Mart (“ElectroMart” in Naver) are easy enough to find on Naver Maps or Kakao Maps and have several locations.

There is also another electronics retail chain called Techno Mart, which has a lot of niche electronics along with some newer electronics. At these shops, you might be able to find what you’re looking for if you’re after something specific, second-hand, or an older model. However, for newer electronics, most people prefer to go to the above-listed locations.

Yongsan, an area located in Seoul, specializes in electronics. If you’re after vintage electronics and unique electronics that are no longer sold, Yongsan is the place for you.

There are both smaller shops that sell one type of electronics and a whole traditional-style market full of independent sellers selling second-hand electronics, both newer models and older ones you cannot buy anywhere else.

Besides the smaller shops and the “traditional” electronics market in the Yongsan area, there is also a massive Electronics Mall called Electro Land (전자랜드).

This mall has many huge floors, all of which are full of electronics shops. You can find electronics of all types, from the newest smartphones and computer graphics cards to large collections of Gameboys, video games, old-school cameras, and vintage music electronics.

That’s where you can buy electronics in South Korea!
